- ⚠️As Canadians we believe that healthcare is a human right, not a business model. But right now, Canada’s universal healthcare is under threat.
In Alberta, Bill 11 opens the door for American-style private, two-tier healthcare, where profit, not patients, get the priority.
Bill 11 is a direct threat to sexual and reproductive health and rights – universal public healthcare.
When people can access health services like abortion, STI testing or cervical screening without paying out of pocket, they are better prepared to plan their families, lives, and futures.
📢On this Day of Action for Women's Health, we need YOUR VOICE to demand that our federal government protect our universal healthcare.
Together, we can protect and expand the public systems we all rely on. Let's defend our health, our rights, and our future.

- 📢Abortion is healthcare. Full stop.
In Canada, abortion is legally protected in our healthcare system, but access is often out of reach. Everyday our Access Line answers calls from people navigating barriers, like those without insurance or those who live hundreds of km from a clinic.
Increasingly, anti-choice groups spread misinformation, while funding cuts exacerbate existing barriers.
But together, we have the power to reject stigma and create a healthcare system that works for all. Let's foster a future where everyone can access timely, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care.

- 📢Good news for abortion rights! B.C. is expanding the scope of practice for midwives to include prescribing medication abortion performing, diagnostic ultrasounds, and providing a full range of contraceptive care.
This is what an equitable, affordable, and effective health system looks like. Through harnessing the specialised training of midwives, residents in B.C. will face fewer barriers associated with cost, geography and wait times.
If B.C. can bridge the gap for rural and marginalized communities through midwifery, there is no reason the rest of Canada should remain a patchwork of access. 👉That's why we're calling on all provinces and territories to follow B.C.'s leadership.
Let's ensure that everyone can access the sexual + reproductive care they need ❤️.Photos de la publication de Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rightsby Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights on 29 mai 2026 at 16h48
